Bell 427 — twin-engine light helicopter

The Bell 427 first flew in 1997 and entered service in 2000. It features a four-blade main rotor and advanced avionics. The helicopter was developed to expand Bell’s presence in the light twin market.

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW207D turboshaft engines producing approximately 700 shaft horsepower each, the 427 cruises at around 140 knots (259 km/h). Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 6,300 pounds (2,858 kg). The cabin accommodates up to seven occupants.

The Bell 427 supported corporate and emergency service missions. Production ended in the late 2000s. The aircraft remains in limited service.
