Neymar’s “New” Private Jet Landed in 2022, and on Paper a Bank Owns It

Neymar's private jet is Falcon PS-NJR, leased from Santander since 2022, not a new 2026 buy. His company also owns a Citation and a Batman H145. Full record.

In April 2026, the Neymar private jet story went around again: the Santos forward had just spent about R$225 million on a Dassault Falcon 900LX. Brazil’s aircraft register tells a different story. That airframe was registered in November 2022, it was built around 2010, and the registered owner is Santander Leasing.

That is not the only thing the coverage has wrong. The English version of his fleet still features an Embraer Legacy that was “repossessed,” a jet with his initials in a tail number that does not contain them, and a helicopter bought three years before it was built.

This article checks each aircraft against the register, then covers the Batman seats, the 2016 freeze, the tax case behind it and the flights people remember.

Does Neymar Own a Private Jet? What the Register Shows

Brazil’s civil aviation agency, ANAC, publishes its whole aircraft register as a data file. We searched the October 31, 2026 edition by name and by the tax number of his company, Neymar Sport e Marketing Ltda, and three aircraft came back.

The company is listed as owner and operator of a Cessna Citation (PR-SMK) and an Airbus helicopter (PP-NJR). On the Falcon (PS-NJR) it is the operator only, with Santander Leasing holding 100% and a finance lease recorded against the aircraft.

The ownership answer, stated plainly

Neymar’s company owns one jet and one helicopter outright on the Brazilian register, and leases the Falcon from a bank. A finance lease can end with the lessee buying the aircraft, but the register did not show that as of October 31, 2026. The FAA’s October 2026 files show nothing under his name or his company’s.

The Origin Story: From a Frozen Embraer to a Black Falcon

Neymar’s aircraft and his tax case grew up together. The two lines cross in 2015 and 2016, and again in 2026.

August 2015

The Citation. O Globo later reports that his company bought a Cessna 680 for $9.1 million this month.

September 2015

The first freeze. A federal appeals judge orders R$188.8 million in assets frozen over a tax assessment on Neymar, his father and their companies.

February 2016

The plane is frozen. Federal court letters reach a plane valued at about R$12 million, a yacht and properties.

March 2016

The paperwork. Lance!, citing O Globo, reports that the Embraer’s registration names neither Neymar nor his companies.

January 2018

The hangar plan. Reports say he will add a hangar for the Citation at his Portobello home in Mangaratiba.

April 2019

PP-NJR. The new H145 enters the Brazilian register on April 12.

June 2022

Boa Vista. The Citation makes a precautionary landing on its way home from Las Vegas.

November 2022

PS-NJR. The Falcon lands at Vitória on November 11 and is registered on November 16.

April 2025

Grounded. ANAC bars the H145 from flying after its airworthiness check expires.

January 2026

The tax appeal. A federal appeals judge signs a vote removing the 150% penalty while keeping the Barcelona money taxable.

April 2026

The new-jet headlines. Outlets report the 2022 Falcon as a fresh purchase.

The Falcon: Not New, Not Bought Outright, and Possibly Not an LX

Canaltech wrote on April 29, 2026 that Neymar had “just spent” a fortune on the jet. Vistazo followed in June, calling it a purchase revealed in April. Neither fits the record, because Aeroin published a photo of PS-NJR at Vitória in November 2022 and confirmed then that it was his.

A Gazeta reported in December 2022 that the jet flew in from Geneva, stopped at Fortaleza and cleared customs at Vitória, three days before Brazil’s World Cup camp opened in Turin. The same column said ANAC listed Santander as owner because of a lease, which the register still shows nearly four years later.

It was also a used airplane. A JetPhotos caption lists its earlier marks as N777QG, B-8030 and M-LANG, and the FAA’s cancellation record for N777QG shows serial 245 exported to China in 2012. Aeroin’s 2011 build year matches that FAA file, while ANAC says 2010.

Then there is the model. Almost every report says Falcon 900LX, but ANAC lists “Falcon 900EX (EASy)” and the FAA record says Falcon 900EX. The LX is an EX fitted with blended winglets, so the gap may be only paperwork, but neither register settles it.

The price is the widest disagreement of all. Figures for this one aircraft run from about R$80 million to R$300 million, and the only one from a government record is a price field with no sale date beside it.

Sale price, market estimate and value are mixed here because the sources mix them. Only the first row comes from a government record.

What Is Actually Known About the Interior

Less than the search results suggest. The Correio piece on what the jet looks like inside says this kind of interior “usually” has reclining seats, lounge areas and dining space, which describes the type and not this cabin. We found no published layout for PS-NJR itself.

What the record does give is the shell: 17 seats on the register, with 14 passengers, in a type whose cabin measures 33 feet 2 inches long and 6 feet 2 inches high. Correio also describes the paint as mostly black.

The Citation He Was Supposed to Replace

When the Falcon arrived, Aeroin presumed it would replace PR-SMK, the 2008 Cessna Citation Sovereign. Nearly four years on, the register still lists his company as owner, with an airworthiness certificate valid to May 29, 2027 and no lien.

Two common details on this jet also fail a check. Superyachtfan and Flycraft date the purchase to 2016, while O Globo’s reporting, as carried by Remezcla in April 2016, puts it in August 2015.

Robb Report Singapore and an older roundup on this site call it a Sovereign+. That variant did not begin deliveries until December 2013, so it cannot be a 2008 airframe. Range figures vary too, with Flycraft quoting 3,200 NM where our Sovereign page lists 2,847 NM.

The Batman Helicopter, Which Is Where the Batman Actually Is

The customized interior everyone searches for belongs to the helicopter. Metrópoles reported that PP-NJR’s leather seats carry the Batman symbol and that the work was done in Paris, with his initials on the tail. We found no equivalent report for the Falcon’s seats.

The dates are firmer than some coverage suggests. Olhar Digital said he swapped into the H145 in 2016, but the register gives a 2019 build year and an April 12, 2019 registration. The widely quoted R$50 million is a valuation, while the register’s price field reads R$43,048,460.

It also has a grounding on its record. In April 2025, Metrópoles reported that ANAC had barred it from flying after its airworthiness check expired on April 4. That has since been resolved on paper: the register shows a certificate valid to April 9, 2027 and no interdiction.

Neymar uses it as a commuter. He reached his first Santos training session on February 3, 2025 by helicopter, landing about 8:15 a.m., and he joined Brazil’s World Cup camp at Granja Comary the same way in May 2026.

The Embraer That Was Frozen, Not Repossessed

Robb Report Singapore says the government seized his earlier Embraer, and an older roundup on this site calls it a repossessed Legacy. Brazilian reporting from February 2016 says otherwise. Gazeta do Povo captions his jet as a Phenom 100E, a far smaller aircraft, and Diário de Goiás values the plane at about R$12 million.

It was also frozen rather than taken away, as far as the reporting shows. Courts issued letters blocking the plane, a yacht and properties in a R$192 million order, and we found no Brazilian report describing a repossession. In a 2019 report on his frozen properties, Poder360 said he could not sell them but could keep using them.

The stranger detail is that it was not on paper his. Lance!, citing O Globo in March 2016, said the registration named neither Neymar, his companies nor his parents. It listed US company SFG Aircraft, operator Voar and a bank lease, and federal prosecutors in Pará were investigating whether that contract was simulated.

Neymar’s companies condemned the leak from a sealed case and said the taxes were properly paid. We found no reported outcome of the Pará inquiry. The Legacy claim has one more variant, Olhar Digital’s Legacy 450 at $12.6 million, and nothing on the register under his name or company matches it.

The PT-LBL Problem

Superyachtfan gives the Embraer Phenom 100 the tail number PT-LBL and says it “features his initials, NRJ.” It does not, and Lance! gave no tail number for the frozen jet, so that page is the only link we found between him and PT-LBL.

The airframe is real: a 2011 Phenom 100, serial 50000230. The register now lists Fato Aviation Gerenciamento as owner, with a sale dated September 24, 2024. Nothing in that record names Neymar, so we are not treating it as proof of who held the plane in 2016.

The Tax Case Behind the Freeze

Brazil’s tax agency assessed Neymar, his father and their companies R$188.8 million in 2015, over about R$63.6 million in tax allegedly unpaid from 2011 to 2013 and tied to his move to Barcelona. He has denied wrongdoing throughout, and Poder360 reported in 2019 that the agency was by then claiming R$69 million.

In October 2022, a federal judge in Santos kept the 150% penalty, while letting tax paid in Spain count against the bill. The vote signed on January 7, 2026 by appeals judge Wilson Zauhy goes further: it removes that penalty, confirms that a separate fine is out, and keeps the image-rights charge annulled.

It also treats the 40 million euros from Barcelona as taxable pay and sends the remaining balance to a court expert. We did not find a final figure, or any report saying whether the Embraer or the other assets are still blocked.

Emissions: The Numbers We Are Not Printing

We found no credible carbon estimate for PS-NJR, so we are not offering one. The figure we found attached to Neymar comes from his August 2023 move to Saudi Arabia, and that flight was not on his own aircraft.

Xataka reported that a Boeing 747 linked to Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal collected him at Le Bourget. Its piece gives both 200 tonnes and 230 tonnes of CO2, cites a social media post for the first and shows no method for either, which is not a number to repeat as fact.

Neymar’s Most Famous Private Jet Moments

The Windshield Over Roraima (2022)

In June 2022, PR-SMK left Las Vegas for São Paulo via Fort Lauderdale and Barbados, then diverted to Boa Vista. ESPN Brasil reported that the pilot chose an early precautionary landing over a small windshield problem. Neymar, his sister Rafaella and his girlfriend Bruna Biancardi were all reported fine.

The Rio Grande do Sul Floods (2024)

In May 2024, he sent a jet and his helicopter with water and food to flood victims, thanking “the pilots of my aircraft” on Instagram. El Universal, citing EFE journalists at the scene, reported that the helicopter evacuated a woman on its return flight, and that she reached a rescue point on the BR-116 highway on a stretcher.

Hours Ahead of the Team (2026)

On May 5, 2026, after Santos drew 1-1 with Recoleta in Paraguay, Campo Grande News reported the Falcon leaving Ponta Porã that night, while the team’s flight was set for 2 a.m. Correio has also reported that the jet is a regular at Costa Esmeralda Airport in Santa Catarina, and that his father uses it too.

The Hangar in the Backyard (2018 to 2025)

In 2018, aeroTELEGRAPH, citing Folha de S.Paulo, reported plans for a Citation hangar at his Portobello home, beside a 4,170-foot (1,270 m) runway. In November 2025, Revista Oeste confirmed a resident’s report of a black hangar there branded “NJR Aviation.” The same piece says he rented a Gulfstream G700 for his return to Brazil.

How Neymar Compares With Other Footballers

His setup is a corporate one, which sets him apart from the sport’s other famous flyers. Cristiano Ronaldo’s private jet story runs through a line of large Gulfstreams, and Lionel Messi’s private jet is a Gulfstream V with his family’s names on the steps.

At the other end sits Kylian Mbappé’s charter habit. Neymar runs two jets and a helicopter through one company and a bank, with a branded hangar at home.

His base could still change. His Santos contract ends on December 31, 2026, and reports in early October said the club had opened talks about 2027.

FAQ

Yes, through his company. Brazil’s register lists Neymar Sport e Marketing as owner of the Cessna Citation PR-SMK and as operator of the Falcon PS-NJR, whose registered owner is Santander Leasing under a finance lease.
His main jet is PS-NJR, serial 245, reported as a Dassault Falcon 900LX. ANAC lists it as a Falcon 900EX (EASy), and the LX is an EX with blended winglets. He also has a 2008 Cessna Citation Sovereign, PR-SMK.
No record shows that. The jet described in the 2026 headlines, PS-NJR, arrived in Brazil on November 11, 2022 and was registered on November 16, 2022. It was already a used aircraft, with earlier marks including N777QG and M-LANG.
No confirmed purchase price has been published. Reports run from about R$80 million to R$300 million. The register’s price field reads R$119,714,232, with no sale date, and the aircraft is held under a lease.
The Batman detail belongs to his helicopter. Metrópoles reported that PP-NJR has leather seats with the Batman symbol, customized in Paris. We found no published layout or Batman report for the Falcon’s cabin, though Correio describes its paint as mostly black.
We found no report that it was. In February 2016, federal court letters froze a plane valued at about R$12 million as part of a tax case, and a Brazilian report identified his jet as a Phenom 100E, not a Legacy. He has denied wrongdoing.
He has an Airbus H145, listed on the Brazilian register as a BK 117 D-2 and marked PP-NJR. It was built in 2019 and belongs to his company. ANAC barred it from flying in April 2025, but the register now shows a certificate valid to April 9, 2027.
The Falcon 900LX is quoted at 4,750 nautical miles, enough for long intercontinental trips without a stop. That figure belongs to the LX with winglets. His Citation Sovereign is listed at 2,847 nautical miles.
