Cessna United States ICAO: C680 2004–Present Active $18.8 million (2019)

Operational Context

Cessna Citation Sovereign — midsize business jet

The Sovereign first flew in 2002 and entered service in 2004. It featured a swept-wing design distinct from smaller Citations. The aircraft was engineered for improved climb and runway performance.

Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306 turbofan engines producing approximately 5,900 pounds of thrust (26.2 kN) each power the jet. Cruise speed approaches Mach 0.80. Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 30,000 pounds (13,608 kg), with range near 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km).

The Sovereign gained popularity among corporate operators requiring flexibility in airport selection. Updated versions, including the Sovereign+, extended avionics capability. The model remains a strong presence in the midsize segment.
