Operational Context

Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma — medium twin-engine helicopter

The AS332 first flew in 1978 and entered service in 1981. It incorporated structural and engine upgrades compared with earlier Puma variants. The design supports troop transport and offshore missions.

Two turboshaft engines producing approximately 1,800 shaft horsepower each power the helicopter. Cruise speed approaches 150 knots (278 km/h). Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 20,000 pounds (9,072 kg).

The AS332 became a mainstay of offshore transport and military aviation. Numerous variants have been developed. The aircraft remains widely operated globally.
