Operational Context

Embraer Legacy 600 — large-cabin business jet

The Legacy 600 first flew in 2001 and entered service in 2002. It retained the basic ERJ fuselage but added winglets and a reconfigured cabin. The aircraft emphasized spaciousness and range for long-haul business missions.

Powered by two Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofan engines producing approximately 8,800 pounds of thrust (39.1 kN) each, the Legacy 600 cruises at around Mach 0.80, approximately 460 knots (852 km/h). Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 50,000 pounds (22,680 kg). The cabin typically seats 13 passengers.

The Legacy 600 provided intercontinental capability at lower acquisition cost than larger competitors. It remained in production for more than a decade. The platform laid groundwork for later Embraer large-cabin jets.
