On December 10, 2018, at the bi-annual Middle East Business Aviation Association Show (MEBAA), the manufacturing company Boeing announced its new business jet wide-body model, the BBJ 777X. The new BBJ model can fly nonstop more than halfway around the globe, longer compared to any business jet ever produced. It also features the widest cabin of any twin-engine aircraft. The BBJ 777X offers two models known as the BBJ-777-8 and BBJ 777-9.

The BBJ 777-9 features a larger cabin measuring 342.7 square meters. This model offers almost immeasurable interior design options to guarantee ultimate comfort, especially for long-distance flights. To showcase more of the aircraft’s roomy cabin, BBJ revealed outstanding interior concepts from three leading design firms such as Greenpoint Technologies, Jet Aviation, and Unique Aircraft Design. Every interior concept shows how the aircraft can be configured depending on the preference of any VIP customer. The aircraft has an exterior length of 76.7 meters, a tail height of 19.65 meters, and a fuselage diameter of 6.20 meters. The fourth-generation composite wing has a wingspan of 71.80 meters with split scimitar winglets. The cargo volume is 218.2 cubic meters.

The flight deck of the aircraft also features state-of-the-art technologies and modern avionics. It boasts an improved pilot interface, incorporating widescreen flight displays, touchscreen electronic flight bags, touch interface on the inboard panels, and dual head-up displays.

Despite its larger cabin, the BBJ 777-9 offers ultra-long range of 11,000 nautical miles, thanks to its two powerful General Electric GE9X engines. The GE9X is a dual rotor, axial flow, high-bypass turbofan engine which produces a maximum thrust of 105,000 lbf. It has a 1 fan, 3-stage low-pressure, 11-stage high-pressure compressor, and a 2-stage high-pressure 6-stage low-pressure turbine. It has a ten percent higher fuel efficiency than its predecessor and a five percent specific fuel consumption than other competing engines.

The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 351,550 kg, a maximum payload of 39964 kg, and a maximum fuel tank capacity of 52,300 gallons.
