Operational Context

Cessna Citation Mustang — very light twinjet

The Citation Mustang first flew in 2005 and entered service in 2006. It features a low-mounted swept wing and twin rear-mounted turbofan engines. The aircraft was certified for single-pilot operation with modern glass avionics.

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F turbofan engines producing approximately 1,460 pounds of thrust (6.5 kN) each, the Mustang cruises at around 340 knots (630 km/h). Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 8,600 pounds (3,901 kg). The cabin typically seats four passengers.

The Mustang offered jet performance at lower operating costs. It achieved strong sales before production ended in 2017. The aircraft remains a popular light jet on the secondary market.
