Operational Context

Cessna Citation CJ4 — extended-range light business jet

The CJ4 first flew in 2008 and entered service in 2010. It features a swept-wing design distinct from earlier straight-wing CJs. The aircraft incorporates modern glass cockpit systems and refined aerodynamics.

Two Williams FJ44 turbofan engines producing approximately 3,600 pounds of thrust (16.0 kN) each power the jet. Cruise speed approaches 450 knots (833 km/h). Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 17,000 pounds (7,711 kg), with range near 2,100 nautical miles (3,889 km).

The CJ4 has become a popular choice for owner-operators and charter companies. Its combination of speed and manageable operating costs strengthens the Citation lineup. Production continues in updated configurations.
