Operational Context

Bombardier Global Express XRS — ultra-long-range business jet

The XRS first flew in 2004 and entered service in 2005. It incorporated wing refinements and extended maintenance intervals compared with earlier versions. The cabin featured upgraded materials and layout options.

Two Rolls-Royce BR710 engines producing approximately 14,750 pounds of thrust (65.6 kN) each power the jet. Cruise speed approaches Mach 0.85. Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 98,000 pounds (44,452 kg), supporting a range near 6,150 nautical miles (11,390 km).

The XRS strengthened Bombardier’s position in the ultra-long-range segment before the introduction of newer Global models. Many remain active in corporate and government service. The aircraft remains closely associated with early 2000s intercontinental business travel.
