Operational Context

Praetor 500 Production

Embraer Praetor 500 as well as Praetor 600 was launched in Orlando in October 2018. On the same month, the aircraft was also showed on National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). It received its Brazilian type certificate in August 2019, then European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Certification and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in September 2019.

In the third quarter of 2019, the first delivery of the unit took place.

80 hours were accumulated during the flight testing of Praetor 500 in September 13 2018.

Praetor 500 Flight Deck

This aircraft is designed with an advanced Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion flight deck that integrates four 38-centimeter diagonal Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD). Built with a Synthetic Vision System (SVS) onboard, it has three-dimensional data that advances intuitive situational awareness for safe take-off and landing.

The flight deck also features geo-referenced electronic charts, maps, and checklists. Praetor 500 has a vision and Head-Up Displays (HUD) to aid the system. The avionics suite helps the pilot to reduce workload and enhance decision-making during flight, and also provides precise navigation and connectivity, and guarantees safety while in-flight.

There is a fly-by-wire flight control system with side stick controls, an Inertial Reference System (IRS) that provides navigation data, and an automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) that determines aircraft position through satellite navigation.

Praetor 500 Cabin

The aircraft cabin has a length of 7.32 meters, height of 1.83 meters, and width of 2.08 meters. The Praetor 500 features an elegant cabin that provides utmost comfort to passengers. It is perfect for normal conversation, relaxation, or even for working because of its ultra-quiet environment. There is an on-seat dining space, reclinable seats, fully flat bed, and wide windows.

The cabin tables can be used either for work and for meals because it provides spacious area.

Equipped with the best connectivity, it features Ka-band and Gogo AVANCE L5, a reliable connection whether for personal or professional use. There is also a full 1080P High Definition video streaming and the best audio provided by Honeywell Ovation Select Cabin Management suite.

Moreover, the aircraft cabin has a spacious baggage compartments for a reasonable amount of storage, and a user-friendly vacuum lavatory. The galley has a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and an oven that the passenger can use depending on their needs. This aircraft’s cabin is definitely designed to meet the comfort of the passenger in a very elegant and functional way.

Praetor 500 Engine and Performance

Embraer Praetor 500 is designed with two efficient HTF7500E turbofan engines produced by Honeywell Aerospace. It has a maximum thrust of 6,540 lbf each that can acquire up to four million flight hours.

Responsible for the source of electricity to power the aircraft is the Honeywell 36-150 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), that also works as a back-up power system.

Being one of the fastest private jets, Praetor 500 can fly up to a service ceiling of 45,000 feet, has a maximum cruising speed of 466 knots, travel range of 3,340 nautical miles, and a take-off and landing distance of 1,287 meters and 636 meters.
