Operational Context

Cessna Citation Longitude — super-midsize twin-engine business jet

The Citation Longitude first flew in 2016 and entered service in 2019. Textron Aviation designed the aircraft as a step above the Citation Latitude, introducing a larger fuselage and refined aerodynamics. A swept wing and T-tail layout support efficient high-altitude cruise while maintaining the handling characteristics typical of the Citation series.

Two Honeywell HTF7700L turbofan engines producing approximately 7,665 pounds of thrust (34 kN) each power the aircraft. Cruise speed approaches 483 knots (895 km/h). Maximum takeoff weight exceeds 39,000 pounds (17,690 kg), and the aircraft has a range of roughly 3,500 nautical miles (6,482 km).

The Longitude was designed with a quiet cabin, flat floor, and modern Garmin G5000 avionics suite. Corporate flight departments and charter operators use the aircraft for transcontinental and international routes. It remains in production as Textron’s flagship Citation model.
